DRAINAGE & STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) contracted EBS Engineering, Inc. (EBS), to development of an operations protocol for Project Structure # 15 (PC-15). In March 2008, the District replaced the existing Culvert originally constructed by the US Army Corp of Engineers in the late 50s when C-18 Canal was constructed. It is located on the west side of the East Leg of the C-18 Canal, 1-mile north of the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and the Beeline Highway in Palm Beach County.

PC-15 retains water in the Loxahatchee Slough and provides controlled releases from the slough to the C-18 Canal to provide water supply or to maintain the level of flooding service. Our task included site visit, survey reviews, and data collection, review relevant literature, structure information, and development of a rating curve for the culvert.
