Miami-Dade Transit was planning an extension of the Metrorail north on NW 27 Avenue in Miami-Dade County to the Broward County Line as one of its long term transportation objectives. The preliminary engineering for the approximately 9.5-mile corridor identified parcels along the corridor that will be impacted by the proposed Metrorail extension for acquisition.

Miami-Dade Transit contracted PEER Consultants, P.C. (PEER) to provide Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for the parcels, with EBS as one of its sub-consultants. Phase II ESAs were also performed on parcels with RECs to investigate the potential impacts to the soil and groundwater on each site.
